Frances Gage, associate professor of art history, presented the paper "'She made beholders laugh': Old Age, Allegrezza and the Early Modern Care of the Self" at the conference "The Philosophical Image: Art, Wisdom, and the Care of the Self in the Premodern World, 1200–1700" (PDF, 38 KB) held at Johns Hopkins University November 14–16.
