Donald Savage, the late professor of theater, hired a young Equity actor for a John Milton festival held on campus in 1984. The actor—Donn Youngstrom, now associate professor of theater—never forgot it. "Dr. Savage became a mentor to me," said Youngstrom, "and he encouraged me to earn my M.F.A."
