Information Security Awareness: Password Security Reminder

Posted:

Once again, SUNY has reminded us of the following:

  • Never use a password for more than one account. Each account should have its own unique password.
  • Never use your phone number, address, birthday, or other private information in your password.
  • Never use patterns like QWERTY or 13579 or 54321 or ABCDE.
  • Never share your password with anyone, in any form, ever. Not even your most trusted confidante or colleague.
  • Do use a passphrase. Read more about creating secure passphrases.
