Registrar's Office: Cross-Registration and Off-Campus Study

Posted:

When working with students on options for taking classes elsewhere, please be sure that you are aware of the eligibility criteria that must be met for each of these programs: SUNY cross-registration and WNY Consortium cross-registration. Cross-registration is available for incoming (students coming to Buffalo State) and outgoing students (Buffalo State students going out) for spring and fall semesters only. Cross-registration is an articulation agreement, so eligibility criteria and deadlines must be met. No exceptions or grievance procedures are available. A student must be matriculated at his or her home institution in order to be eligible for cross-registration.

The OPEN SUNY website offers a search option for 100 percent online courses that can be filtered by many fields, including a comprehensive list of all courses by semester or by college or university.

Buffalo State students who would like to take a class elsewhere for J-Term or Summer Session may be eligible to participate in a different program; this is not cross-registration but off-campus study (PDF, 196 KB).
