Professional Development Webinar: Faculty Evaluation and Review - Guidelines for Getting It Right

This webinar will provide some practical strategies for conducting effective evaluations and an enhanced understanding of how to craft appropriate feedback to faculty. Attendees will receive checklists, sample documents, and other resources. Join us on Wednesday, January 30, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Professional Development Center, E. H. Butler Library 181B. There was no opportunity to preview this webinar.

The webinar’s learning outcomes include the following:

  1. Learn to distinguish between course evaluation, teaching observations, and faculty evaluation.
  2. Gain guidance for using policy and contractual language in writing faculty evaluations.
  3. Explore the use of checklists as performance-review aids.
  4. Understand the importance and effectiveness of writing less-than-positive reviews.
  5. Use the evaluation process to create a healthful climate for the whole department.
