From the From the Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs

The interim dean of the School of Arts and Sciences has forwarded a recommendation to move the faculty and programs in the Political Science, Public Administration, and Planning Department and the Philosophy Department to create a Government, Planning, and Philosophy Department. The creation of the new department has been endorsed by the affected faculty in both existing departments. This change will leverage synergistic opportunities to allow for a richer curriculum that benefits students and faculty. This change is recommended to become effective January 1, 2025.
