WORKSHOP: SYLLABICATION--WHEN STRESS IS A GOOD THING

Don't embarrass yourself by saying pleTHORa instead of PLETHora or acuMEN instead of aCUmen. This can be especially painful in mixed company. Mispronunciations can make or break first dates, lead to misunderstandings, or create dissension among nations. Do you want to be responsible for such chaotic situations? No, of course not. Then you'll want to attend this workshop sponsored by the Academic Skills Center, where you can learn the importance of stressing the proper syllables in words. Date: Tuesday, Nov.2. Time: 12:15 p.m. (Bengal Pause). Place: Twin Rise 201. Presenter: Catherine George.
